Enjoy Scary Fun Haunted Happenings in Salem, MA
The town of Salem is known for being the site of the famous Witch Trials of 1692, and that spooky atmosphere haunts the area to this day. With fun-filled celebrations of Halloween and fall in New England, more than 250,000 people come to Salem Haunted Happenings each year. Events include a Grand Parade, the Haunted Biz Baz Street Fair, Family Film Nights on Salem Common, costume balls, ghost tours, haunted houses, live music, and chilling theatrical presentations.

The annual Haunted Happenings Grand Parade kicks off the Salem Halloween season. This night-time event attracts people near and far to come out and celebrate this annual tradition.
Haunted Biz Baz Street Fair
Enjoy street performers, great music and wonderful unique shopping as more than 100 venders will be present here on the Essex Street Pedestrian Mall.
Family Film Nights on Salem Common
Grab the kids, some snacks and a blanket and head over to Salem Common at sundown for an outdoor showing of some favorite Halloween themed family-friendly movies; sure to get you in the mood for a spooky Halloween! Each weekend, local radio station Magic 106.7 will sponsor a different movie through October to get you in the mood for Halloween
For children 11 and under, this is a unique run/bike/run race that’s lots of fun. Pumpkin treats and a costume contest will be part of the festivities. The Little Pumpkin Duathlon will be held on October 1st at 7 a.m.
25 food trucks will descend on Salem Common to give you the chance to sample everything from whoopee pies to gourmet grilled cheese. Live music and family activities will delight, too. The Food Truck Festival is a two-day event from October 1-2.
Follow along with Professor Wunder as he teaches you all about magic. This is an interactive, family-friendly show with comedy and special effects. The show will be performed on regular dates all throughout October.
Tour the house that inspired Nathaniel Hawthorne’s classic novel of greed and revenge as its characters come alive and recount their side of the story. Spirits of the Gables runs all October long.
Take your costumed trick-or-treaters down to Pickering Wharf to scare up some early Halloween enjoyment. This event is on October 23, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
