Each year the sculptures are created to resemble different themes. A map of sculptures and locations will be available on brochures distributed around town near the festival.
The Salem Film Fest is in its ninth year and is one of New England's largest documentary film festivals. This festival offers a dynamic and diverse collection of the year's finest work from all over the world. The Salem Film Fest focuses on interesting stories that contain wonderful visual approaches, strong technical elements and are screened over the week long schedule.
The Salem Jazz and Soul Festival offers a series of annual free concerts to the public that ends with their annual main festival at the Willows, during August. This festival draws more than 6,000 people to the Salem Willows each year for the free two-day concert. Throughout the spring and summer months, there is also an SJSF/Berklee Summer Series — in partnership with Berklee College of Music — in downtown Salem on Saturdays in May June, July and August; a City of Salem Jazz Appreciation Day in April; and an annual fundraiser, which is their only ticketed event throughout the year.
The annual Gloucester Schooner Festival is organized by the Gloucester Schooner Festival Committee and Maritime Gloucester. Known otherwise as Gloucester’s major maritime and sailing event, it is held in the harbor and nearby waters of the oldest seaport in America. The Gloucester Schooner Festival pays tribute to the major impact the fishing schooner has played in the history of Gloucester and the entire eastern seaboard.
